Re: Major League Baseball anyone?
Nah.

Just can't get into any American sports other than the NFL, which is third only to proper football and cricket.

Baseball, basketball, ice hockey - I've tried, especially when in the States, but just can't get into them.

I see the skill, in all of those sports, like most sports. But just not my cup of tea. I almost took to ice hockey when I went to MSG to watch the Rangers play the Capitals. But the uber co-ordinated nature of fandom drove me insane. When the ice cleaner came on, during every break in play, animated hands appeared on the screen to try to get the entire crowd to clap along.

It was like something out of Disneyland.

No thanks.

Football, cricket, NFL, boxing, athletics. Not really worried about too many other sports.

Well done Nationals. First team ever to win the World Series by winning all there away matches.

Re: Major League Baseball anyone?
Game 7 tonight, weirdly both teams have lost all 3 of the games they've played at home.

Verlander is now 0-6 in his world series starts.

Nationals should have their number 1 elite pitcher back tonight after he had to miss his scheduled start due to back spasms

Pretty big upset still, think is aw that the Astros were the biggest world series favourites since 2007

Re: Major League Baseball anyone?
When the Twins won the World Series in 1987, I believe it was the first team to win all their home games and lose all their away games, they did it again in 1991 not sure if it's been done since though?

Re: Major League Baseball anyone?
Not that much of an upset since no-one in baseball has a better record than the Nats since May? They also have their own superman pitchers.

Good on them. In any case, they are red hot at the right time and that’s what counts in the playoffs. Having beaten the Astros twice away with both Verlander and Cole pitching is massive for them. Not over yet but it could be very soon.

Re: Major League Baseball anyone?
The National’s have won there last 8. Talk about timing it right. And the Astros look like they have lost their mojo. It ain’t over by a long stretch. And Washington knows it. But it makes a one horse race. Very interesting. Bet Vegas are shitting themselves.?

Re: Major League Baseball anyone?
Huge upset on the cards here, Nationals destroyed the Astros last night and are 2-0 up in the series having beaten both of the Astro's best pitchers.

Re: Major League Baseball anyone?
Nationals had never even won a playoff series before this year, now they're going to the world series.

Just cant see anyone beating the Astros, in a 7 game series you'll get 2 games each from Cole and Verlander which should be enough for the 4 wins right there

Re: Major League Baseball anyone?
Well done Washington Nationals. First team from DC to make it to the World Series since 1933. With New York and Houston looking like it’s going the distance. The Nats will have all week to savour the moment. Most people won’t give them a snowball chance in hell beating either one of the AL powerhouses. But with there own top class pitchers. They will fill they can go toe to toe with anyone.

Wonder how Bryce Harper feeling.?

tbh mate, it was my first ever game, so I only remember those three. I only knew Sax because I'd been tipped the wink that he couldn't field for toffee.
